Region: North West, West Midlands Theme: Health and Social Care (in OPE), Regeneration The challenge The Lancashire OPE Partnership is faced with the challenge of providing better services against a background of public and health sector reform, whilst improving the satisfaction of their growing communities.

Greater Manchester is the first city-region to develop a Health and Justice Strategy. It is fully inclusive of people with a learning disability and autistic people. It was the first time that health, social care, and criminal justice services came together to look at the issues in an integrated wider strategy. BANES is one of the least deprived authorities in the country, but 20 per cent of the population lives in communities where there is deprivation, shorter life expectancy, increased prevalence of long-term conditions and poorer general health. Reducing this health inequality is an overarching aim of the health and wellbeing board (HWB).

Hatfield Renewal Partnership began its work to devise a long-term plan for the future renewal of Hatfield to 2030 and beyond. As a result consultation and engagement with key stakeholders, businesses, community groups and residents took place under the ‘Hatfield 2030+’ branding and the Hatfield 2030 website to better understand the town’s potential, its future challenges and to identify solutions.
