The case studies in this publication show the innovations that can be achieved by local areas collaborating within regions on health issues that can best be tackled at scale.
The publication also shows how public health is taking responsibility for its own improvement. By utilising peer challenges, public health is shining a light on how effectively it operates – both within councils and as part of the wider local health and wellbeing system.
With the growing impetus on prevention and integration, it is essential that public health is well-placed to drive the ‘health in all policies’ approach and to ensure that improving health and wellbeing, and tackling health inequalities, are everyone’s business.
