Increasingly councils are having to make difficult decisions about which services it provides to its communities. Against a background of changing priorities, as well as the search for new and collaborative ways of working for both front line and back office services, these decisions will require difficult choices in many cases.

As someone elected to serve your local community these decisions are bound to be divisive and stressful, especially when it comes to explaining these decisions to, and dealing with the impact of those choices on their own communities. Undue stress is not helpful to effective decision-making, performance or leadership.
