The Grey book covers the national pay and conditions for operational and control staff of local authority fire and rescue services. At the moment the sixth edition only is available. It can be downloaded by LGA workforce subscribers, local authorities and fire authorities.
Under the 2003 pay and conditions agreement there are still some areas within the Grey book which need to be negotiated.
Once these issues have been agreed within the NJC a revised Grey book will be published and advertised to authorities via NJC circular.
