Adult social care outcomes framework reports

Using the annual data published by NHS Digital, two reports are available to provide a summary of council performance across the measures in the framework: headline measures and a detailed view.

Data tools for managing transfers of care

A range of data tools and reports review and explore the monthly published delayed transfers of care data at both council and Trust level.

Care Market Review online tool

The Care Market Review online tool provides current details of all registered adult social care providers in England. Drawing on the latest data available from CQC this easy to use resource displays residential and domiciliary care locations on a map and in list format, providing quick and easy access to a range of information about each location including quality, size, and parent company and brand details. All details are also available for download. The tool includes the Unique property reference Number (UPRN) and CQC location ID of each social care location so it can be linked to other records. Authorised adult social care staff can sign in for additional information shown by other LGA tools, including the latest COVID-19 provider data.

Use of resources approach

Working collaboratively with councils, the LGA and ADASS have led the development of a robust and transparent approach to evaluating the use of resources in adult social care to support sector led improvement. The 13-step approach uses a set of questions to promote informed self-assessment and improvement, taking into account local conditions and bringing in challenge at each step. It helps councils to identify areas for further exploration, where spend and/or performance is significantly different to regional or national averages.

Interactive thematic reports on care and health available through LG Inform

Small area reports

Focused on smaller localities such as wards, these reports support comparison and analysis within local areas.
