Following a proposal from the executive group of the National Network of Chairs of Safeguarding Adults Boards the Care & Health Improvement Programme (CHIP) invited councils to participate in a voluntary data collection exercise to help the sector promptly understand the nature of the impact of COVID-19 and the lockdown on safeguarding activity, and how it compares to the previous year.

Data collection

Following a proposal from the executive group of the National Network of Chairs of Safeguarding Adults Boards the Care & Health Improvement Programme (CHIP) invited councils to participate in a voluntary data collection exercise to help the sector promptly understand the nature of the impact of COVID-19 and the lockdown on safeguarding activity, and how it compares to the previous year. This involved providing monthly figures on a small number of categories derived from the Safeguarding Adults Collection (SAC).
