Scarborough Borough Council have shared a project report that builds in key learning from the LRAP training programme that aims to outline prioritised retrofit activities, locations, funding options, and community engagements, and identify actions that need to be taken in partnership with National Park Authorities.

Newport City Council has been working in collaboration with Egni Co-op, a community organisation that funds and manages PV installation in Wales, to meet the target of becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2030. To date, this partnership has installed 6,713 solar panels across 27 sites (2.074MW) in Newport, with an estimated annual generation of over 1,900,000 kWh of clean electricity

Newham Council launched the UK’s first Just Transition Plan to support its local net zero targets. The plan shifts focus from a purely decarbonisation approach to a wider stance embedding core principles of increasing equity for residents and adapting to the worsening impacts of climate change.

Net Zero Now is a one-year project from Cambridge Carbon Footprint which was awarded £15,000 by South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Zero Carbon Communities (ZCC) grant scheme. The Net Zero Now project designed and delivered free training for community action on climate change. It trained 12 individuals to become local ambassadors for climate change. These individuals are now working on initiatives ranging from village hall sustainability, toy and book swaps, bike repair schemes and eco-festivals. The resources developed through the project have been transformed into a free online training course and will help to deliver future in-person and online courses.
