Mindmate is a website, co-produced by Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group and young people, providing a single point of access to information on mental health written in a clear style and without medical jargon.         

Focusing on the positive difference local resources and people could make to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people proved an invaluable experience and lead to system changes at a strategic and operational level in Hull.

Oldham Council was the first area in the country to pilot MH:2K, a powerful new model for engaging young people in conversations about mental health in their local area. 

A new programme enabled 14 Young Commissioners to be equal partners in leading service and culture change for children and young people’s mental health services in Newcastle and Gateshead.

As part of the whole system health and care transformation programmes East Sussex Better Together and Connecting For You, East Sussex County Council has developed a system wide asset-based approach to prevention and early intervention with a view to making sustainable change at scale and pace.

An example of how a council gave voluntary groups and individuals a different way to engage the wider community and a framework for ongoing engagement through events to share food.

Up2U is a programme for people who use domestically abusive and unhealthy behaviours in their relationships. It seeks to reduce the incidents of domestic violence, prevent the cycle of abuse, and reduce the numbers of children in child protection services, edge of care or children in care.

New Beginnings is an LGBT youth group which caters for 11 to 19 year olds. It launched five years ago to provide a safe space for young people to socialise and learn life skills, as there is little support for this group within other everyday environments.

With agencies across Sefton recognising the need to involve the public on key issues, it was important to find a way to coordinate and consolidate the work.
