In response to perinatal and infant mental health challenges, Durham County Council's commissioned health visiting service has significantly advanced its care delivery through a skill mix model and the introduction of specialised roles.

City of York Council introduced a strategy in 2019 to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children with a focus on speech, language and communication. The Early Talk for York approach aims to improve outcomes for communication and language skills for children aged birth – five.

Dorset Council has begun a transformation of our recruitment. Our aim was to improve candidate connections, foster inclusivity, embrace technology and use data-driven decision making. This innovative approach has proven to enhance recruitment effectiveness, with measurable results, offering valuable and transferable insights for other local authorities.

The development of this offer involved working with parent carers, CYP, and community partners to produce a summer community offer. The offer was designed to ensure local families have opportunities to access positive activities, build networks and friendships, access excellent quality information and build their confidence of using universal services and exploring the Local Offer.

Ohana is a Hertfordshire County Council project built in partnership with care experienced parents to offer them emotional and practical support.

This case study forms part of the What Good Looks Like report on people with a learning disability and autistic people. This co-produced report was commissioned from the Building the Right Support (BTRS) Advisory Group, as part of the wider action plan developed by the Building the Right Support Delivery Board.
