The Hertfordshire Leaders Group, attended by all council leaders, agreed to establish the Hertfordshire Climate Change and Sustainability Partnership (HCCSP) in January 2020. HCCSP’s aim is to share information, coordinate and influence solutions, and bring forward proposals for key interventions around climate change and sustainability across Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire County Council wanted to improve the quality of care providers in the council, reboot relationships with them and put them into the driving seat in developing a sector led approach. This forms part of our adult social care markets and commissioning resource.

In Herefordshire we knew that we had rising numbers of EY children with SEND. Our ambition was to have an Early Years SEND service that encompasses a holistic approach to the early identification, support of, provision for and placement of Early Years children with SEND.

The ‘Talk Community’ approach sees Herefordshire Council working in partnership with communities, businesses and residents to offer wellbeing advice, support and signposting to services.

Over one-third of Herefordshire’s greenhouse gas emissions are estimated to be from heating homes and other buildings. The role of retrofit will be important to decarbonise buildings across Herefordshire if we are to reach the county’s zero carbon target by 2030.

The London Borough of Ealing co-designed a new approach with housing staff that incorporated behavioural insights and nudge techniques.

Brent Council applied to the Design in the Public Sector programme with the desire to make the planning application process in Brent easier and quicker.

Plan Ahead is a tool designed to help residents travel in their daily lives and overcome anxieties or accessibility challenges they face. The solution is an easy-to-read, use and follow map with navigation aids, such as pictures of landmarks.
