Kirklees Council has tackled cuts to their advice service by streamlining the benefits process and channel shifting residents to a new digital service called BetterOff.
BetterOff has been designed and commissioned to help reduce the welfare advice budget, improve service provision, encourage self-service and digital skills, maximise monetary gain and - crucially - embed the link between benefits and employment by combining them in one digital space. It is a mobile-first, public facing solution, enabling 70% of claimants in Kirklees to apply for benefits online.
