West Suffolk's approach to supporting families and communities puts residents and elected councillors at the heart of making positive change. The approach identifies connectors - well connected, active local people – who can contribute to local solutions for the community. Supported by their locality officer and some locality funding, ward councillors engage with their community and connectors, to understand key local issues and use their influence to help the community provide a local solution. There is also focus on supporting and investing in families, rather than children and adults separately, to turn off demand further down the line.
