Councils wish England luck ahead of Euro 2020 Wembley final

“Hopefully, Sunday’s game brings us all the result we want and football does, finally, come home.”

Commenting ahead of the Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Councillor James Jamieson, Chairman of the Local Government Association, said:

“On behalf of all councils across England, I wish Gareth Southgate and our England Football Team the very best of luck for Sunday’s Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium against Italy.

“The past year or so has been horrendous for many people and their families and it is fantastic to see everyone come together and celebrate the team’s success as they’ve progressed throughout the tournament.

“Euro 2020 has lifted the nation and given many a reason to smile. Across the country, we’ve seen flags flying, neighbourhoods coming together, and more youngsters taking a keener interest in football

“Hopefully, Sunday’s game brings us all the result we want and football does, finally, come home.”
