Governance

The Public Service Pensions Act 2013 requires the Secretary of State for Education, as scheme manager of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), to establish a Pension Board and a Scheme Advisory Board. They are two separate bodies with different responsibilities.

Pension Board

The TPS Pension Board (TPSPB) provides assurance of the effectiveness of the administrative arrangements. Further information regarding the Board and the TPSPB quarterly meetings and can be found on our Pension Board page.

Scheme Advisory Board

The Scheme Advisory Board (TPSAB) is a forum through which the Secretary of State can request advice from member and employer representatives on the desirability of changes to the scheme rules. It is also a forum for stakeholders to raise questions or concerns about TPS policy issues. The TPSAB meets at least three times a year and information regarding meetings can be found here.
