Return to Work – Planning is one of four programmes developed by the LGA and Government Equalities Office to support councils with recruitment.
Designed to support councils with the recruitment of planning professionals, this free programme will run a national recruitment drive on your authority’s behalf and give you the chance to connect with experienced individuals who are eager to join local government.
Candidates accepted onto the programme will be planning professionals, or professionals with transferable skills, who would like support to return to work after taking an extended career break. All candidates will be provided with free training from the Planning Advisory Service so they can refresh their knowledge and skills.
By signing up to this free programme, your authority will be given the chance to connect with our selected participants, allowing you to recruit experienced professionals without recruitment or agency fees. For more information, please read our Council Information Pack.
To encourage experienced planners living in your area to apply for our programme, we ask you to help us by sharing the opportunity with your networks. In our Communications Toolkit for Councils and Communications Toolkit for Stakeholders, you will find templates for multiple platforms to make sharing the programme as simple as possible.
You can sign up to this programme from 18 November 2020. If you have any questions, please email us.
