The LGA, NHS England and the Care Provider Alliance have published a guide to the Mental Capacity Act. This is aimed at supporting care providers providing community services.  

This joint Local Government Association (LGA) and Association of Directors of Social Services (ADASS) research project was carried out between July and November 2014.

This report presents the findings from research into the peer support and review elements of the Towards Excellence in Adult Social Care (TEASC) programme, undertaken by Shared Intelligence (Si) and commissioned by the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS).

These nine case studies showcase local government experience of commissioning sexual health services since taking over this responsibility in April 2013. The studies demonstrate how commissioners have grasped the opportunities of having a local government base.

This sets out the increasing contribution to society and the economy older people can make through empowered local government and challenges the commonly-held belief that an ageing population is a burden.

The LGA and NHS Clinical Commissioners have launched their ambitious call to action and a set of proposals to local system leaders and the Government to strengthen the impact and leadership of health and wellbeing boards across the country.
