This publication presents case study examples showing how district councils have improved the health of their local areas.

The strongest determinants of health and health inequalities are the social, economic, commercial and environmental conditions in which people live: the ‘wider determinants of health’. We are pleased to announce that the LGA is working in partnership with The Health Foundation on this new programme tackling the wider determinants of health.

As part of the LGA’s ongoing work to support local transport improvement and in particular decarbonisation, the LGA’s Economy, Environment, Housing and Transport Board commissioned this report exploring shared micromobility in the UK.

The examples in this report show what can be achieved by system leaders and staff from local government, the NHS, the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, and service user and carer groups working together to improve health and deliver person-centred care.
