This improvement tool has been has been developed throughout 2014/15 with funding from the Department of Health and support from the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Association of Directors of Social Services (ADASS).
Developed by the sector, the key areas of focus below have been used in a number of peer challenges and as a means of self-assessment. The characteristics of a well-performing and ambitious organisation are described.
The tool can now be used across a range of organisations to assess a service, to identify and promote good practice and to highlight areas for further development.
