The LGA's behavioural insights programme is part of our wider support to council innovation.
Falling resources and increasing demand means that council resources are under more pressure than ever; this can act as a barrier to the take up of innovative ideas. In order to assist with this, the LGA has joint funded a small number of council behavioural insight projects in order to reduce the financial risk for councils and encourage innovation.
As behavioural insights continue to be applied to increasingly complex issues in local government, the LGA is looking to build an evidence base of what works that councils can apply to their own services locally.
