Senior officer leadership training: carbon literacy

This programme will help senior council officers, across all services, to explore their crucial local leadership role in responding to the climate emergency.

We would love to welcome everyone on to the training, however, as you imagine, programme places are limited. The LGA is also committed to ensuring fair and proportionate representation across all councils and regions. Therefore, each council can have a maximum of two staff attend across the six sessions advertised.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Any officers from the same council who sign up afterwards will be placed on the waiting list. We will of course be in touch should a place become available.

Additionally, as part of the training offer, we will introduce a train the trainer model. This will mean that staff members from your council who have successfully completed the training will also be able to offer the training themselves, meaning that learning can be shared across your organisation.

During this course, you’ll commit to two carbon reducing actions. These actions will be evaluated by the Carbon Literacy Project for you to be certified as carbon literate, enabling you to train others in your area of work.

  • Fee: The cost of attending this programme is fully subsidised. This includes course materials and tuition.
  • Where: It will take place virtually on Zoom.
