Free health and social care support for councils

We know local leaders want to help their communities stay healthy and receive the best possible care. Our support offer is designed to help them transform social care, health and integration, and lead health improvement and prevention locally.

Councils are facing some of their toughest challenges at the interface between health and social care. The Care and Health Improvement Programme (CHIP) offers a range of FREE options to help councils and their health partners overcome the demands on service provision in this complex arena.

If you are a health and wellbeing board member or chair, elected member with responsibility for health, a director or assistant director of adult social services or care or a commissioning and information lead we can help you.

What is CHIP?

CHIP is jointly led and delivered by the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS). CHIP provides support for lead members, health and wellbeing boards, officers and their teams working in social care and integration.
