The Tree Strategy sets out Hampshire County Council’s approach to increasing and connecting woodland areas, green’ corridors and networks across the county. It will supplement and connect existing sites through group tree planting, to create a county-wide ‘Hampshire Community Forest’.

The Heart of the South West LEP and East Devon District Council have worked with Ampaire, a US hybrid electric aircraft developer, to complete the first English Hybrid electric test flight from Exeter Airport. This has led to an inward investment plan for the region, focusing on high potential opportunities for Smart and Sustainable Aviation within Devon & Somerset. The first stage of this plan will see the development of a Living Lab for Future Aviation testing and demonstration.

In response to challenges finding long-term solutions to nutrient neutrality, the Herefordshire Council have established a Cabinet Commission to progress the restoration of the Rivers Wye and Lugg.

Over one-third of Herefordshire’s greenhouse gas emissions are estimated to be from heating homes and other buildings. The role of retrofit will be important to decarbonise buildings across Herefordshire if we are to reach the county’s zero carbon target by 2030.

The Hertfordshire Leaders Group, attended by all council leaders, agreed to establish the Hertfordshire Climate Change and Sustainability Partnership (HCCSP) in January 2020. HCCSP’s aim is to share information, coordinate and influence solutions, and bring forward proposals for key interventions around climate change and sustainability across Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Council partnered with Energy Saving Trust to provide an energy efficiency app, to help residents save money on their bills.
